Community Emergency Response Team
This program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responder can rely on during disaster situations.

Hall County CERT
The Hall County CERT Program includes adult volunteers and features a Teen CERT educational group. CERT prepares residents with basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community. Hall County CERT volunteers meet monthly for additional training and exercises. Local missions assigned to the Hall County CERT include disaster response, supporting the Grand Island Fire Department through the “After the Fire” program, damage assessment, onsite credentialing and accountability, support public health with Strategic National Stockpile operations, crowd and traffic direction, supporting the local COAD in Volunteer Reception Centers (VRC) and the Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARC).

The Scotts Bluff County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
